About Carrie

carCarrie Henzie was born in Canada and lives and works in Montreal. She studied English and Cultural Studies at McGill and is currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography at Concordia.

Carrie's work spans over 15 years. She is inspired by the human form and themes of identity and transition. Carrie integrates socio-political and feminist discourse into her work as a catalyst for discussion and to propose alternative perspectives on conventional ideas and situations.

These themes are primarily explored in series, through portraiture. Carrie works in studio as well as on location and outdoors. She strives to use light and texture to infuse her work with a consistent mood and sensibility.
